When my Jenny and I started Inspire Change Collective in 2019, we chose a name that reflected what we believed about people: when someone begins to believe in themselves and act on that belief, the impact reaches far beyond their own life.

Before starting our company, we had worked in a variety of gyms and across health, fitness, nutrition, and habit change. Much of that work focused on the physical body by helping people move better, build strength, and develop healthier routines.

Over time, we saw how deeply that work connected to the rest of a person’s life. People needed a stronger connection between their minds and bodies. They also needed a connection to their sense of purpose: an understanding of what mattered to them and why they wanted to change.

Those experiences shaped the business we wanted to create. And they’re behind every word in our name.

Inspire

The word inspire comes from the Latin inspirare, meaning “to breathe into.” For us, that carries a beautiful meaning: to breathe life into someone’s belief in themselves.

That is what we hope to do through our work.

We want to help people recognize the possibilities within themselves and feel capable of taking a step toward them. To learn something new. To try again. To begin building a life that feels connected to what they value.

We believe meaningful change grows from that internal connection. Support and encouragement can help someone get started, but there is something powerful about a person discovering their own reason to keep going.

Our role is to help them find and strengthen that belief—and give them support as they put it into practice.

Change

Belief opens the door. Action is how we move through it.

The change we care about takes shape in everyday life: the habits we practice, the way we care for our bodies, how we respond to challenges, and how we connect with the people around us.

Sometimes that begins with movement or nutrition. Sometimes it begins with taking the time to understand yourself, what you need, and what you want your life to stand for.

These parts of life are connected. As we become more aware of ourselves, we have opportunities to make choices that reflect who we want to become.

That process takes practice. It takes learning, adjusting, and choosing to continue. We want to help people develop the belief and ability to participate in their own growth.

Collective

This word connects individual growth to the larger reason we do this work.

Each of us lives in relationship with others—with our families, our friends, our communities, and the environments we help create. The changes we make in ourselves can influence how we show up in all of those places.

When someone builds greater trust in themselves, they may become more willing to contribute. When they learn to care for themselves, they may have more capacity to care for others. When they take a meaningful step forward, someone close to them may begin to believe that change is possible for them, too.

We believe we all benefit when individuals have the opportunity to grow into their own greatness. Everyone has something to contribute, and part of our work is helping people recognize that in themselves.

That is the collective we have in mind.

Why we keep doing this work

Inspire Change Collective is the culmination of years of work, learning, and experience. The ways we serve people have grown from that foundation, and the purpose behind them continues to guide us.

We want to breathe life into people’s ability to believe in themselves, take action, learn, and grow. We want to help them build deeper connections with themselves, their families, their surroundings, and the people they encounter every day.

Our belief is that changing the world begins with the individual—and continues through the lives that individual touches.

That is why we started Inspire Change Collective in 2019. And that is why we do what we do today.
